Owen's First Dawgs Game

2 weekends ago (again with these late posts, geeze...) we headed to Athens for UGA's Homecoming game vs. Vandy. It was really special to be able to take Owen to his first Dawgs game. We didn't actually take him inside the stadium because we decided to watch the game at our tailgate on TV, but it was a blast! I don't think he minded not actually going into the game, he slept most of the time anyway ;) It was just Tony, Owen, and me outside watching the game on TV and we had some really great family time. To top it off we won 24-14 which was awesome, bringing home a W is always great! Here are a few pictures from Owen's first Dawgs game...

GOOOOO DAWGS!!!

Practicing following in Daddy's footsteps...hopefully all the way to UGA one day!

7 Months

7 Months

So in usual fashion, I am late doing Owen's 7 month post :) This month has FLOWN by and been quite eventful and a little hectic at times too. Owen has 6 teeth and counting. Let's just say he hasn't been his usual happy self lately and I just feel so bad for my little guy. It has to be so painful cutting teeth and he's just been feeling kinda yucky lately. This past week he went on a nap strike and cried for an entire hour each time I put him down for a nap. I felt so bad about doing it, but the best thing for him is to get his sleep so I had to be "tough mama" this week. It must have done some good because he FINALLY decided to take his naps today. They weren't the full 2 hours each that they were before the strike, but they were naps nonetheless and I'm not complaining! He was his usual self again today too so that has been so wonderful :) Just goes to show you how important those naps really are to a 7 1/2 month old!

Owen is crawling ALL over the place these days and he's getting quick too. I really have to keep my eye on him more than ever before. I've also had to complete the task of babyproofing that has been on my to do list for a while now. He loves to stand and is rather proud of himself each time he walks his way around the ottoman or pack and play.

Here are Owen's 7 month stats:
weight: 16lbs. 3oz. (10th percentile)
length: 28 3/4 inches (90th percentile)
head: 44.5 cm (50th percentile)

I had to do these measurements at home again because we don't go back to the doctor until December so I'm not sure just how accurate they are, but you get an idea anyway:)

We have also added the following foods to Owen's diet this month:
Avocado
Peaches
Carrots
Yogurt

We'll be adding some meat in the next few weeks too, starting with some chicken I think.

See the next post for a few of my favorite pictures of Owen from the 7 Month pics...

Pulling Up!

Okay, Owen is officially pulling up now...A LOT! He has really gotten the hang of things and loves to practice this new trick, especially after he wakes up from his naps. I got my camera ready when he woke up from his nap today so I could capture a few shots of him in action. starting out careful and slow...

grabbing the bumpers for support...

almost there, I can see over the railing now!
just an inch or two more... ...and I'VE GOT IT!

I also got a really cute video of him after he pulled himself up. He was really excited to be standing! I just LOVE the cute noises he makes :) You'll also notice another one of his new tricks, waving "hi" and "bye bye"...

Owen is SUCH a happy, happy baby and I am so very blessed to be his mama! He almost always wakes up super happy and in a great mood. I just love him so very, very much and I am constantly singing praises to my Lord and Savior for Owen, he is such a treasure! Would you just look at that smile?! PURE JOY!

Happy Fall Ya'll!

Here are a few pictures of my favorite lil' punkin'! Hope everyone is having a Happy Fall so far :)

My little Davey Crockett :)

My mom brought this coonskin cap over for Owen to play with. It was my brother's when he was little and one of his favorite things to wear! My brother LOVED to play "dress up" as Davey Crockett, Batman, Ninja Turtles, etc. He used to watch his favorite shows dressed up as the character in the show, it was so cute. Owen got a kick out of playing "peek a boo" in it. Who knows, maybe he'll run around playing Davey Crockett one day too :)

Prayers Needed

Please pray for sweet baby Catherine extra fervently today. She had a not so great night last night and had to be re-intebated. Please pray for her little lungs to get strong and heal so that she can breathe on her own and also pray for Katie and Donnie for assurance and endurance and that they will not be discouraged, but encouraged by the nearness of our Lord. Catherine had been doing really really well lately and though we have all been told of the rollercoaster that CDH can sometimes be, it still made my heart sink to hear of this not so great news. His plans are perfect and I will quote my friend Shelly in saying that even when our circumstances change, our Lord and Savior does not and we can sing His praises for that!

Family Day at the Park

Tony took the day off on Monday and we headed to Swift-Cantrell Park for a picnic and walk in the park. We had a great time and loved having Daddy home with us on a weekday, what a special treat! I took a lot of pictures (of course!) check out some of the highlights below....

UGA/Bama Game

Last weekend, Tony and I left Owen for the first time overnight (!) with my parents and headed to Athens for the UGA/Bama game. We had a wonderful time with great friends tailgating before the game, eating great food and hanging out. Unfortunately our team didn't show up for the first half of the game and we ended up losing to the Tide (boo!), but we had a fun time nonetheless! Here are a few pictures from the game:
