Birthday Party Palooza!

Whew! We had a whirlwind weekend celebrating this

BIG 3 YEAR OLD (!!!)

Our sweet Owen is so so loved by our amazing family & friends & they helped us celebrate Owen all weekend long! We kicked off his birthday morning celebrating just the 4 of us at home.

That afternoon we went to Owen's birthday buddy Xan's party to celebrate him turning 3 as well (they were born 1 hour apart!). After that we met the grandparents for dinner at Chick-fil-A followed by frozen yogurt at Menchie's where Owen got to pick out whatever he wanted for dessert--he ended up with York Peppermint Patty with gummy bears...he definitely got to eat that whole bowl all by himself, as curiously, no one else cared to sample his creation :)

The next day we had Owen's Toy Story birthday party with our neighborhood friends.  It was an absolutely GORGEOUS day and we were able to celebrate in our backyard.  We had neon green alien cupcakes while we watched the kiddos run around in the yard enjoying the beautiful sunshine day :)

Last, but not least, I took in cupcakes for Owen's class this week to have one last celebration with his teachers & friends at school. He has the sweetest little class and we are so thankful that he's so loved & cared for at his wonderful school!

Owen is such an incredible blessing to our family & we thank God for him every single day.  We treasure & adore this big 3 year old!  He is a joy to have around, always keeps us on our toes, and makes us laugh countless times each day.  Owen truly is an amazing kiddo and I am so, so blessed to be his mama!

7 months old

This sweet little boy is 7 months old now!  Oh my goodness how I thank my God for the blessing of Evan.  He is so precious & truly an amazing addition to our family.  We love him with all of our hearts!

Clearly he's now sitting up really well :)  He's almost, sorta kinda interested in learning to crawl, but hasn't officially attempted it yet.  He's now on a "big boy schedule" as I call it--4 feedings per day supplemented by 3 "solid food" meals & he's also down to 2 naps.  Evan fills our days with smiles & laughter. 

OH HOW WE LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!!

Sunshine Days

Oh my how we have Spring Fever!  The weather has been so nice lately & we've enjoyed so much time out in the beautiful sunshine :)  I'm afraid the colder weather is peaking his head back in though because as I type this, it's cloudy & in the low 50's...as Owen would say, "Aw shucks!"  Speaking of cute things that little boys says, Owen told me this morning that, "the sun was being lazy today & sleeping late."  I could just eat that kid up, he's so precious :)  We love playing outside, but we'll be patient seeing as it's only the first part of March, but come back to us soon sunshine & warm temperatures, we miss you already!!!

6 months at 7 months

So, I'm a little behind...yeah, what else is new?  Evan's now 7 months old (good grief, how did that happen?!) but here are a few pics and notes about him at 6 months old...

Had a GREAT 6 mo. well checkup & the dr. was pleased with everything she saw :) Evan weighed 16 lbs, 3 oz. (25th percentile) and measured 28 inches tall (90th percentile).  As different as my two boys are, surprisingly they were both in the same exact percentiles at 6 months old. Extra puzzling to me because at 6 months old, Evan is wearing the same clothes that Owen wore when he was 12 months old.  Go figure.

Evan's now rolling over in both directions...well who am I kidding?  He's rolling around ALL OVER THE PLACE!  That boy can get clear across a room in about 10 seconds.  He's still not showing any signs of crawling yet though, which is fine by me because it's all I can do to keep up with Owen so I'm fine with E taking his time with that milestone :)

Evan's still all about the food & has changed his mind about peaches (the only food he didn't care for at first) and now he loves them along with everything else.  He's now eating a wide assortment of fruits, veggies & his oatmeal cereal too of course.
